HYDE PARK, NY -- The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum will commemorate Constitution Day with a screening of the film A MORE PERFECT UNION (1989) on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. The program will be held in the Henry A. Wallace Center at the FDR Presidential Library and Home. This is a free public event but registration is required. CLICK HERE to register.

Synopsis:

America, 1786. Ten years have passed since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. But America's hopes for a united country are dangerously threatened. England wages a new war of unfair trade and tariffs. Fragmented states continually bicker over currencies, trade, taxations. America is a powder keg ready to explode.

But a handful of courageous men, James Madison, George Washington, and Benjamin Franklin, lead a three-year diplomatic battle that culminates in Philadelphia. There they created a new form of government . . . one that has since become the standard of freedom and democracy for the rest of the world. The United States Constitution (completed and ratified) launched the United States on its voyage.

A MORE PERFECT UNION -- the first comprehensive film enactment of the birth of the Constitution -- was shot on location at Independence Hall and other historic locations in Virginia. It features a distinguished staff and has been carefully crafted by a seasoned cast of motion picture professionals.

Please contact Cliff Laube at (845) 486-7745 with questions about the event.
