Synopsis:
WARM SPRINGS (2005, 120 mins.) Kenneth Branagh stars in this biopic of FDR after becoming paralyzed by polio in 1921 and his rehabilitation at a rural Georgia health spa. This sentimental dramatization emphasizes inspirational narratives about overcoming disability. However, the film highlights the important story of FDR and Warm Springs with beautiful art direction and fine performances. WARM SPRINGS received 42 nominations and 12 wins, including 5 Primetime Emmys. Also starring Cynthia Nixon, Kathy Bates, and David Paymer. Directed by Joseph Sargent.
