Rose Garden Ceremony & Birthday Cake: Eleanor Roosevelt's Birthday
October 11, 3pm ET Rose Garden and Henry A. Wallace Center
The National Park Service will hold a Rose Garden ceremony to commemorate Eleanor Roosevelt's Birthday. Afterwards, the FDR Presidential Library will invite visitors to the Wallace Center for birthday cake and refreshments. This is a free public event.
Film Screening and Discussion: "The Girl with the Rivet Gun"
Library Education Director Jeffrey Urbin will lead the discussion with filmmakers Anne de Mare and Kirsten Kelly, producer Elizabeth Hemmerdinger, and animator Danielle Ash about this short film that explores the personal stories of women who went to work to help win World War II.
This is a free public event, but registration is required. *local health metrics permitting

Fall Forum: "Franklin and Eleanor, and the Power of Words: A Conversation with Paul Sparrow"
A conversation with FDR Library Director Emeritus Paul Sparrow and Acting Director William Harris. This annual, fall lecture series is now known as the Paul Sparrow lecture.

Eleanor Roosevelt was born in New York City on October 11, 1884. What's shown here is a draft of the March 27, 1942 My Day column in which she talks about her 15th birthday.

Our animated short film Everyone Has the Right will make its New York City theatrical premiere this Saturday, October 8, at 11:30am at Village East Cinemas as part of the Soho International Film Festival. Tickets are still available.
Three years ago the FDR Library and Pare Lorentz Center released our series "Investigating the Holocaust." This fourteen-part series uses documentary footage from the Nuremberg Trials to examine the rise of Nazism, World War II, and the importance of justice. And in all media, it just surpassed one million views.
