St. John’s University law professor and Library Trustee John Q. Barrett and University of Pennsylvania Professor of Constitutional Law Kermit Roosevelt III will discuss how the "standard story" of the origin and development of American values has helped — or hindered — the Nation's journey towards a more universal equality for all Americans. Following the program, Roosevelt will sign copies of his new book, The Nation That Never Was: Reconstructing America's Story.
Marc Wortman examines America’s secret forays into World War II prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor, begin with Henry Stimson's calls to repeal the Neutrality Act and prepare for war.
Dr. Bernard Cooper of Cleveland, Ohio, fashioned this comical caricature figurine of Franklin D. Roosevelt made from an artillery shell and sent it to the President in July 1943 as a gift.
From September 10, 2022 - April 30, 2023, the Clinton Presidential Center will commemorate the anniversary of the 19th Amendment and the anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women by mounting a vibrant, multimedia exhibit exploring the risks women and their male allies took to win the vote, expand democracy, and elevate human rights. Curated by FDR Library Trustee Allida M. Black.
