Words have played a powerful role in the creation of the US and American ideals. Author and historian Harvey Kaye examines how Thomas Paine and Franklin Roosevelt used words to call a nation to action in times of crisis, and rally Americans to build a more promising future.

 

This event is free to attend but registration is required.

 

Registered attendees can visit the Library's special exhibition, DECLARING THE REVOLUTION: AMERICA’S PRINTED PATH TO INDEPENDENCE, free of charge before the program, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
