Remember the First Ladies explores the evolving role of the First Lady in American history. Through biographical and thematic chapters, it highlights their contributions to politics, society, and life in the White House from Martha Washington to Dr. Jill Biden.
David B. Woolner, historian and author of The Last 100 Days: FDR at War and at Peace, speaks with Library Director William Harris on "Life and Legacy: Remembering FDR, 80 Years On" to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Franklin Roosevelt's death.
The Hevreh Ensemble performs compositions with varied instrumentation including Cherokee Native American flutes, clarinet, bass clarinet, oboe, English horn, and world percussion. They will be joined by guests artists that include the talented young composer and flutist, Tiffany Zhao and renowned pianist, Renee Briggs.

More than a Moment for the Nation: The Presidential Funeral of FDR
FDR was laid to rest at his Springwood estate on April 15, 1945, after a massive four-day funeral spanning multiple states. Though he had outlined his burial wishes, his death unexpectedly reshaped presidential funeral traditions.
