The National Park Service will hold a Rose Garden Ceremony to commemorate Franklin Roosevelt's Birthday. Following the ceremony, the FDR Presidential Library will invite attendees to return to the Wallace Center for birthday cake and refreshments.

Texas native and artist Martha Sawyers traveled the South Pacific and Asia during the 1920s and 30s with her husband William Reusswig. The couple eventually settled in Beijing until Japan’s invasion of China in 1937. During WWII she was a war correspondent and illustrator for Collier’s and LIFE.
The holiday season brings about the list maker in all of us, well, at least in those of us who give gifts — or make lists. The President certainly took a hands on approach to the Christmas season. We have folders of official gift lists accounting for hundreds of people.
