World War II Military Displays

Time: 10am - 4pm ET

Location: FDR Library Great Lawn

 

In honor of Memorial Day Weekend, the Great Lawn in front of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum will take on the appearance of a World War II encampment with WWII Military Displays.

 

Period military vehicles of all sizes – including a Sherman Tank – and soldiers in battle dress will be on hand to share their love of World War II history.

Theodore Roosevelt I (1831-1878) was the father of President Theodore Roosevelt and Elliott Roosevelt (Eleanor Roosevelt's father). Following his death in 1878, artist Daniel Huntington painted three posthumous portraits of Roosevelt, from a photograph, for his children. Eleanor Roosevelt inherited this portrait from her father.
