History Fair and Reenactment

June 14, 2025

RevCon2025

RevCon

Time: 10am-4pm ET

Location: Wallace Center & Library Lawn

Dutchess County continues its multi-year commemoration of America’s semiquincentennial with RevCon 2025. Reenactors from the Brigade of the American Revolution will be on hand to demonstrate military camp life, tactics, weapons demo and to answer questions about life in Revolutionary America. Examine Dutchess County’s role in the war at the accompanying history fair. Pose for photos with Dutchess Tourism's "Commander in Cheers" and hear stories of Dutchess County's revolutionary heroics as told by a pint-sized, augmented reality version of George Washington, named Tiny George.

This year's RevCon includes a special presentation by historian and author Todd Braisted, titled "They Absolutely Did Not Murmur: The Hudson Valley Takes Up Arms for King George."

The car was specially outfitted with hand controls so the President could drive himself, something he truly loved. Former race car driver Rob Dyson takes a closer look at this historic treasure from the FDR Presidential Library and Museum.

The British Royal Visit

President Roosevelt planned every minute detail of the June 7-12, 1939, visit to ensure the King would win the support of the American people. Indeed, his efforts paid off; King George VI's visit to the United States became a key component in developing a stronger political and social alliance between the U.S. and Great Britain.
