Dutchess County continues its multi-year commemoration of America’s semiquincentennial with RevCon 2025. Reenactors from the Brigade of the American Revolution will be on hand to demonstrate military camp life, tactics, weapons demo and to answer questions about life in Revolutionary America. Examine Dutchess County’s role in the war at the accompanying history fair. Pose for photos with Dutchess Tourism's "Commander in Cheers" and hear stories of Dutchess County's revolutionary heroics as told by a pint-sized, augmented reality version of George Washington, named Tiny George.
This year's RevCon includes a special presentation by historian and author Todd Braisted, titled "They Absolutely Did Not Murmur: The Hudson Valley Takes Up Arms for King George."
This day-long program will highlight the recently published work of fourteen authors whose works draw upon the Roosevelt Library archives – or focus on the Roosevelt era. Sessions will run concurrently throughout the day, including a special afternoon presentation by Richard Breitman, author of A CALCULATED RESTRAINT: WHAT ALLIED LEADERS SAID ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST.
Book signings will follow each talk and copies will be available for sale in the New Deal Store.
PLEASE NOTE: This program is in-person only. Sessions will be recorded for later broadcast. Free to attend, no registration required.
In Memoriam
The Board of Trustees of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum are deeply saddened by the death of Beth Newburger, of Arlington, VA on May 21st, 2025. She served multiple terms as Library Trustee, and she brought her wisdom, extensive experience, keen intelligence, and sense of humor to the Library and the Trustees. She was a treasure, and we will miss her dearly.

Revolutionary War Naval Battle Commemorative Pitcher
Franklin D. Roosevelt was an avid, lifelong collector of prints, engravings, paintings, and objects associated with the history of the United States Navy. FDR displayed this pitcher – along with a similar one on the mantle above the fireplace in his bedroom at the White House.
