Decorations, Holiday Book Fair, Cards for Sailors, Santa and Refreshments

Time: 9am to 5pm ET

 

There will be music, photo time with Santa from 1pm to 3pm, and holiday card-making for sailors on the USS FRANKLIN AND ELEANOR ROOSEVELT beginning at Noon.

The Holiday Book Fair begins at 1:30pm. Featured authors will be available to sign copies of their books (available for purchase in the New Deal Store). Refreshments in the visitor center will be served throughout the afternoon.

 

The Home and Library – decorated for holidays – will be free of charge. The Home will be open from 9:30am to 4pm.

Signature Moments: Letters from the Famous, the Infamous, and Everyday Americans

Location: FDR Presidential Library

 

From Einstein to Earhart, Oppenheimer to Shirley Temple — an extraordinary cast of characters wrote to Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt. Signature Moments offers a rare look at these personal exchanges, alongside treasures from FDR’s own archive of historic documents and artifacts. Part of the Library’s America250 celebration. Eleanor was particularly fond of a fleur-de-lis brooch that had been worn by both her grandmother and mother before her. She had this gold and pearl brooch made in 1948 and wore it frequently.
